How To connect you wix hosted website to Google Search Central/Google Webmasters

When you a write a blog, you want to convey your message to people all over the world. And one of the best ways to reach people around the world is by including your blog post in Google Search Central.

What is Google Search Central ?

Google Search Central formerly known as Google Webmasters is a service which allows google to know that your website or your blog exists in the internet. Thus when someone searches for something which resonates with your article, google knows to direct them to your website. This helps you get found in the internet and convey your message to people who need them.

How to add your website in to Google Search Central?

In order to get added, you need to verify your website to Google Search Central. If you are a beginner then most probably you are starting a free website on a hosted website such as wix.com. Once you create a website on wix.com you will be provided with an URL, which is an unique identifier for your website and looks something like https://soubhik001.wixsite.com/themightiersword.

Once you have your website url ready, visit https://search.google.com/search-console/about and click on "Start now".

On clicking "Start now", you will be directed to a page to add your url. Add your website url under the URL prefix section and hit "CONTINUE"

You will be next be asked to verify ownership. Select "HTML tag" from "other verification methods" and copy the text by hitting the "COPY" button.

Now login to your wix homepage and from the options on left bar go to SEO Tools -> Site Verification and under paste the text you copied in the last step under Google Search Console and hit save.

Now go back to the "Google Search Console" (the third image in this article) and click on verify. Thats all! your website is now added in Google Search Console. Enjoy!!
