Best way to sell a car in Bangalore

Sooner or later we have to come across that sad moment when we have to say goodbye to our old friend, out beloved car. We have cared for it since the time we bought it and irrespective of the reason of selling it, we want to get its deserved price.

How do i get to know the value of my car ?

Well one of the best sides of technology is today everything is possible from the comforts of home, especially if you are in Bangalore. To know the value of your car you just need to book an appointment with with any car buyers/sellers like cars24 or spinny. The experts will come to your address, inspect the interiors and exteriors of your car, sometimes may even take a test drive to evaluate the current price of your car. The whole process of inspection takes around 45 minutes. And yes they do not charge anything for this inspection, its totally free of cost. After about couple of hours the inspection is done, you will get a call from the manager who will quote the price of your car.

As the evaluation is free of cost, its better to get your car evaluated by as many vendors as you can and go ahead with the one where you see maximum benefits.

My personal experience!

In October 2021, I planned to get a new car and hence I had to bid goodbye to my old car a Hyundai Grand i10 2015 model, petrol magna. My car had only run ~1300kms and was in a pretty good shape excluding few minor scratches here and there.

The first vendor that I went to was Cars24. I simply downloaded their app, filled in the details of my car and they showed me an estimated value which was approximately 3lacs 80 thousand. Thereafter I did setup a time on the app itself to get my car evaluated so that i can get the exact price. The next day their representative came to my place and inspected my car and within a couple of hours the manager called me and gave the exact quotation for my car. The price quoted was 4Lacs 25Thousand.

Though it was a decent price I thought of getting it evaluated by a couple of more vendors before finalising the deal with cars24. So next I went ahead and booked an appointment with spinny. The process was pretty same here. I booked an appointment for car evaluation via their website. The next dau my car was evaluated and price of 4Lacs 35Thousand was offered.

I had also booked appointments with Ola but they never showed up.

Which Vendor I went ahead with and why?

Now I had two offers in hand.

Cars24 - 4 Lacs 25 Thousand

Spinny - 4 Lacs 35 Thousand

Okay, money wise I am getting 10k extra with spinny but what are the other factors that might be important while making the deal?

• I had an outstanding loan of 1 Lac on this car. So essentially once you get the loan fore closure letter from the bank, the vendor should deduct the loan amount and credit the rest of the amount to your bank. The loan amount deducted will be repayed by the vendor. This was the policy followed by cars24, but spinny had a exception here. They would not credit the whole outstanding amount to your bank immediately. Rather, they would pay you 90% now and the rest of 10% once you receive the NOC(No Objection Certificate) from the bank.

• If you sell your car to cars24, along with the sell letter they give you a certificate that if anything happens to your car until your RC is transferred, it will be owned by Cars24. No such commitment was done from spinny's end.

These two were the major factors which helped me decided Cars24 over spinny. I was getting 10k less but i wanted the money immediately as I had use it for the downpayment of my new car. Also once I sell my car I would not like to own any of its responsibility. Hence I would like the vendor to take the full responsibility of the car even in case of any mishaps until its resold and RC Transfer is done.

Conclusion

Therefore I finalised the deal with Cars24. The following process was quite smooth. My car was taken 2 days from the day the deal was done and I received the full credit while the driver was at my home to take the car. The RC was transferred in next 90 days without me having to worry about it. To be frank I was quite impressed and satisfied by the process, service and timely communications that Cars24 had to offer.
